The Honey Shine Foundation: “Encourage young girls to shine as women.”

MIAMI - Tracy Wilson Mourning and Katrina Peebles had invited the “Honey Shine Foundation” members to the “Hats Off-Kick Off Luncheon” at the Prestigious Bath Club in Miami Beach, Florida. The main purpose of that event was to encourage new members to join the Honey Shine Foundation.

Katrina, one of the owners of the bath Club, graciously had offered her place for this noble cause. Tracy and Katrina delivered a great message to the guests as they encouraged people to mentor children in the community.

Two of the Honey Bugs talked about their positive experiences with the organization and underlined the educational opportunities that they received. Additionally, they shared their feelings and emotions about the generosity of Tracy and the other founders of the Honey Shine Foundation. Their testimony brought tears in the eyes of many attendees.

Participants of the“Hats Off- Kick Off Luncheon” included: Tracy Wilson Mourning, Katrina Peebles, Norma Jean Abraham, Andrea Graham, Nadine Valme, Julia Alba, Rachel Moscoso Denis, Keisha Eberwein, Myra Porter, Maria Pozner, and Yolanda Washington, just to name a few.

The 6th annual “Hats Off Luncheon” took place on April 29, 2008, at Parrot Jungle Island, Miami Beach, Florida. The proceeds of that particular event were donated to the “Honey Shine Foundation.”

As Tracy said,” With your support, Honey Shine will continue to encourage young girls to shine as women.” The positive impact of that organization in the lives of thousands of children in the African-American community is tangible.

The mission of the “Honey Shine Foundation” is to provide mentoring program, supports the common spiritual, mental and physical thread in all young women. Honey Shine exists to bring light to their paths and create balance.
